Chers frères et sœurs [1], sachez-le, Dieu vous a doté d'une chose qui vous rend infiniment précieux : votre âme. Elle est plus précieuse que le plus précieux des diamants, et elle est faite pour resplendir plus qu'aucune étoile de ce monde quand la lumière de Dieu la traversera.	Dear brothers and sisters [2], know this : God has endowed you with something that makes you infinitely precious : your soul. It is more precious than the most precious of diamonds, and it is made to shine brighter than any star in this world when the light of God will shine through it.	親愛なる兄弟姉妹の皆さん [3]、どうかこのことを心に留めてください。神は、皆さんを無限に尊い存在とするものを授けてくださいました。それは、皆さんの「魂」です。それは、最も高価なダイヤモンドよりも尊く、神の光がそこを照らすとき、この世のどの星よりも明るく輝くように造られているのです。
Aussi devons-nous faire attention à notre âme : éviter les vices qui voilent son éclat et au contraire chercher les vertus qui le rehaussent. Et pour cela, nous avons le bon berger dont le sang nous lave de nos péchés.	We must therefore take care of our soul : avoiding the vices that dim its radiance and, on the contrary, seeking the virtues that enhance it. And for this, we have the Good Shepherd, whose blood washes away our sins.	それゆえ、私たちは自分の魂を大切にしなければなりません。その輝きを曇らせる悪徳を避け、逆に、その輝きを高める美徳を求めましょう。そしてそのために、私たちには善き羊飼いがいます。その血は私たちの罪を洗い流してくれるのです。
Gardons-nous de remettre notre âme dans d'autres mains que les siennes, et en particulier dans celles des prédateurs. Comme ils ne connaissent pas le mot de passe connu de Dieu seul, ils cherchent à passer par des entrées dérobées ou alors ils tentent de se faire ouvrir la porte par des subterfuges. À nous de leur faire échec avec l'Esprit de sagesse et de conseil reçu du Seigneur.	Let us guard against placing our soul in hands other than His, and in particular in those of predators. As they do not know the password known only to God, they seek to enter through hidden passages or else attempt to have the door opened to them through subterfuge. It is up to us to thwart them with the Spirit of wisdom and counsel received from the Lord.	私たちの魂を、主以外の者、とりわけ捕食者の手に委ねないよう警戒しましょう。彼らは神のみが知る合言葉を理解していないため、隠れた通路から侵入しようとしたり、あるいは策略を用いて扉を開けさせようと試みます。主から授かった知恵と助言の御霊によって、彼らを退けるのは私たち次第です。
La voix derrière la porte me trouble, ses propos provoquent de la peur, de l'énervement, ou bien elle déclenche en moi des alternances d'exaltation et de dépression ? C'est mauvais signe.	Does the voice behind the door unsettle me ; do its words provoke fear or irritation, or does it trigger in me alternating feelings of elation and depression ? That is a bad sign.	扉の向こうからの声が私を不安にさせるか。その言葉は恐怖や苛立ちを誘うか、あるいは高揚と落ち込みが交互に訪れるような感情を引き起こすか。それは悪い兆候である。
Au contraire, la voix pénètre directement dans mon cœur, ce qu'elle dit révèle une profonde et réelle intimité avec moi, elle m'apaise d'une paix qui dure, sans haut ni bas ? C'est bon signe.	On the contrary, does the voice penetrate directly into my heart ; does what it says reveal a deep and real intimacy with me ; does it soothe me with a lasting peace, without highs or lows ? That is a good sign.	それとは逆に、その声は私の心に直接響くか。その言葉は、私との深く真実な親密さを示しているか。浮き沈みなく、永続する平安をもって私を慰めてくれるか。それは良い兆候である。
Seul son Créateur peut prononcer les mots qui descendent au lieu le plus intime de sa créature. Au tombeau, Jésus n'a qu'à appeler Marie par son nom pour qu'elle reconnaisse le rabbi qui a les paroles de la vie éternelle, - mieux, Celui est la Parole de Vie éternelle.	Only his Creator can speak the words that reach the innermost part of his creature. At the tomb, Jesus need only call Mary by her name for her to recognise the Rabbi who has the words of eternal life—better still, He is the Word of eternal life.	被造物の最も奥底に届く言葉を語ることができるのは、その創造主だけである。墓の前で、イエスはただマリアを名指しで呼ぶだけで、彼女は永遠のいのちの言葉を持つラビを認めた――それどころか、イエスこそが永遠のいのちの御言葉そのものである。

「はっきり言っておく。羊の囲いに入るのに、門を通らないでほかの所を乗り越えて来る者は、盗人であり、強盗である。	En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, celui qui n'entre pas par la porte dans l'enclos des brebis mais qui escalade par un autre côté, celui-là est un voleur et un brigand.	Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
門から入る者が羊飼いである。	2 Mais celui qui entre par la porte est le berger des brebis.	2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
門番は羊飼いには門を開き、羊はその声を聞き分ける。羊飼いは自分の羊の名を呼んで連れ出す。	3 Celui qui garde la porte lui ouvre, et les brebis écoutent sa voix ; les brebis qui lui appartiennent, il les appelle, chacune par son nom, et il les emmène dehors.	3 To him the porter openeth ; and the sheep hear his voice : and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
自分の羊をすべて連れ出すと、先頭に立って行く。羊はその声を知っているので、ついて行く。	4 Lorsqu'il les a toutes fait sortir, il marche à leur tête, et elles le suivent parce qu'elles connaissent sa voix.	4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him : for they know his voice.
しかし、ほかの者には決してついて行かず、逃げ去る。ほかの者たちの声を知らないからである。」	5 Jamais elles ne suivront un étranger ; bien plus, elles le fuiront parce qu'elles ne connaissent pas la voix des étrangers. »	5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him : for they know not the voice of strangers.
イエスは、このたとえをファリサイ派の人々に話されたが、彼らはその話が何のことか分からなかった。	6 Jésus leur dit cette parabole, mais ils ne comprirent pas la portée de ce qu'il disait.	6 This parable spake Jesus unto them : but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

わたしは門である。わたしを通って入る者は救われる。その人は、門を出入りして牧草を見つける。	9 Je suis la porte : si quelqu'un entre par moi, il sera sauvé, il ira et viendra et trouvera de quoi se nourrir.	9 I am the door : by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
盗人が来るのは、盗んだり、屠ったり、滅ぼしたりするためにほかならない。わたしが来たのは、羊が命を受けるため、しかも豊かに受けるためである。	10 Le voleur ne se présente que pour voler, pour tuer et pour perdre ; moi, je suis venu pour que les hommes aient la vie et qu'ils l'aient en abondance.	10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy : I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

L'Évangile de Jean se distingue des trois autres évangiles en particulier par sa « christologie descendante » : il part de l'intérieur de la Trinité pour ensuite faire descendre sur terre le Fils, la deuxième personne de la Trinité, alors que les évangiles synoptiques partent de Jésus sur terre pour l'élever ensuite au Ciel – christologie « ascendante ».	The Gospel of John differs from the other three Gospels in particular through its ‘descending Christology' : it begins within the Trinity and then brings the Son, the second person of the Trinity, down to earth, whereas the Synoptic Gospels begin with Jesus on earth and then raise him up to Heaven – ‘ascending' Christology.	ヨハネによる福音書は、とりわけその「降臨的キリスト論」において、他の三つの福音書とは異なっている。すなわち、この福音書は三位一体の内から始まり、三位一体の第二位格である御子を地上へと降ろすのに対し、共観福音書は地上のイエスから始まり、彼を天へと引き上げる――つまり「昇天的」キリスト論である。
Dans l'Évangile de Jean, le Verbe incarné Jésus Christ veut nous entraîner avec lui dans les hauteurs d'où il vient et où il retourne. Mais comment Dieu peut-il rejoindre des êtres humains enfermés dans une vision horizontale du monde : quand ce n'est pas la faim qui les obnubile comme cela se passe malheureusement dans les régions en proie à la guerre et à l'oppression, ce sont les images en boucle des media sociaux qui monopolisent les esprits dans les pays « riches »	In the Gospel of John, the Incarnate Word, Jesus Christ, wishes to draw us up with him to the heights from whence he came and to which he returns. But how can God reach human beings trapped in a horizontal view of the world : when it is not hunger that clouds their minds, as is unfortunately the case in regions ravaged by war and oppression, it is the endless loop of social media images that monopolise people's thoughts in ‘rich' countries	ヨハネによる福音書において、受肉した御言葉であるイエス・キリストは、私たちを、ご自身が来られた場所であり、また戻られる場所である高みへと、ご自身と共に引き上げたいと願っておられる。しかし、水平的な世界観に囚われた人間に、神はいかにして手を差し伸べられるだろうか。戦争や抑圧に荒廃した地域では残念ながら飢餓が人々の心を曇らせているが、いわゆる「豊かな」国々では、ソーシャルメディアの映像が延々と繰り返されることで人々の思考が独占されてしまうのだ。
Je parle en connaissance de cause, moi qui me suis couché à deux heures du matin après une session de doom scrolling - de « défilement funeste » de mini vidéos. « C'est la dernière vidéo après je me couche »… « Oui mais la suivante a l'air intéressante »… « Ok mais c'est la dernière », et ainsi de suite jusqu'à deux heures de matin. Résultat : je vais à la louange du matin déjà fatigué, mon cerveau est alourdi par le brouhaha de mots, d'images et les charges affectives qu'ils charrient et mon appétit pour le Ciel passe au second plan.	I speak from experience, having gone to bed at two in the morning after a session of doom scrolling through short videos. ‘This is the last video, then I'm going to bed'… ‘Yes, but the next one looks interesting'… “OK, but this is the last one,” and so on until two in the morning. The result : I go to morning praise already tired, my brain weighed down by the hubbub of words, images and the emotional baggage they carry, and my appetite for Heaven takes a back seat.	私は実体験からこう語る。ショート動画のドゥームスクロールに没頭し、午前2時にようやく寝床についたことがあるからだ。「これが最後の動画、それから寝るよ」……「うん、でも次の動画、面白そう」……「わかった、でもこれが最後だよ」……といった具合に、午前2時まで続く。その結果、朝の礼拝に行く頃にはすでに疲れ果て、言葉や映像、そしてそれらが運ぶ感情的な重荷の喧騒に脳が押しつぶされ、天国への渇望は後回しになってしまう。
Du temps de Jésus, les foules rassasiées au désert ne lèvent pas non plus les yeux vers le ciel : « On a un fournisseur de pain et de poissons sans limite, et qui est gratuit, ce serait pratique de l'avoir comme roi, enlevons-le de force » se disent-elles. Les foules veulent du pain et du poisson pour cette vie-ci, sans voir que se tient sous leurs yeux celui qui peut donner la nourriture pour la vie éternelle. Elles se sont focalisées sur l'aspect matériel de la multiplication des pains sans percevoir sa portée spirituelle.	In Jesus' day, the crowds fed in the desert didn't look up to heaven either : “We've got a supplier of bread and fish with no limits, and it's free ; it would be handy to have him as king, let's seize him by force,” they said to themselves. The crowds want bread and fish for this life, without seeing that standing before their very eyes is the One who can give the food for eternal life. They have focused on the material aspect of the multiplication of the loaves without perceiving its spiritual significance.	イエスの時代、荒野で食事を与えられた群衆もまた、天を見上げようとはしませんでした。「私たちには、無尽蔵のパンと魚を供給してくれる者がいて、しかも無料だ。彼を王にすれば便利だろう、力ずくで彼を捕らえよう」と、彼らは心の中でそう言ったのです。群衆はこの世のパンと魚を欲しがり、まさに目の前に、永遠のいのちの糧を与えることのできる方が立っておられることに気づいていません。彼らはパン増殖の物質的な側面ばかりに目を向け、その霊的な意義に気づいていなかった。
Comment faire lever les yeux des hommes vers le Ciel ? Comment faire pour les libérer du poids du péché qui les courbe vers la terre ? se demande Dieu. Et il a trouvé un moyen : l'élévation de son Fils sur la croix, afin que les hommes lèvent les yeux vers celui qu'ils ont mis en croix.	How can I make people lift their eyes to Heaven ? How can I free them from the weight of sin that bends them towards the earth ? God asks himself. And he found a way : the lifting up of his Son on the cross, so that men might lift their eyes to the one they had crucified.	どうすれば人々に天を見上げさせることができるだろうか。どうすれば、彼らを地へと引きずり下ろす罪の重荷から解放できるだろうか。神は自問された。そして神は一つの道を見出した。それは、御子を十字架に掲げることである。そうすれば、人々は自分たちが十字架につけたその方へと目を向けるようになるのだ。
« Et moi, quand j'aurai été élevé de terre, j'attirerai à moi tous les hommes. » Il signifiait par là de quel genre de mort il allait mourir. » [1]	“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. 大勢の群衆が後を追った。イエスが病人たちになさったしるしを見たからである。	2 Une grande foule le suivait parce que les gens avaient vu les signes qu'il opérait sur les malades.	2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.
イエスは山に登り、弟子たちと一緒にそこにお座りになった。	3 C'est pourquoi Jésus gravit la montagne et s'y assit avec ses disciples.	3 And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
ユダヤ人の祭りである過越祭が近づいていた。	4 C'était peu avant la Pâque qui est la fête des Juifs.	4 And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.
イエスは目を上げ、大勢の群衆がご自分の方へ来るのを見て、フィリポに言われた。「どこでパンを買って来て、この人たちに食べさせようか。」	5 Or, ayant levé les yeux, Jésus vit une grande foule qui venait à lui. Il dit à Philippe : « Où achèterons-nous des pains pour qu'ils aient de quoi manger ? »	5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat ?
こう言ったのはフィリポを試みるためであって、ご自分では何をしようとしているか知っておられたのである。	6 En parlant ainsi il le mettait à l'épreuve ; il savait, quant à lui, ce qu'il allait faire.	6 And this he said to prove him : for he himself knew what he would do.
フィリポは、「めいめいが少しずつ食べたとしても、二百デナリオンのパンでは足りないでしょう」と答えた。	7 Philippe lui répondit : « Deux cents deniers de pain ne suffiraient pas pour que chacun reçoive un petit morceau. »	7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
弟子の一人で、シモン・ペトロの兄弟アンデレが、イエスに言った。	8 Un de ses disciples, André, le frère de Simon-Pierre, lui dit :	8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,
「ここに大麦のパン五つと魚二匹とを持っている少年がいます。けれども、こんなに大勢の人では、それが何になりましょう。」	9 « Il y a là un garçon qui possède cinq pains d'orge et deux petits poissons ; mais qu'est-ce que cela pour tant de gens ? »	9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes : but what are they among so many ?
イエスは、「人々を座らせなさい」と言われた。その場所には草が多かった。それで、人々は座った。その数はおよそ五千人であった。	10 Jésus dit : « Faites-les asseoir. » Il y avait beaucoup d'herbe à cet endroit. Ils s'assirent donc ; ils étaient environ cinq mille hommes.	10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
そこで、イエスはパンを取り、感謝の祈りを唱えてから、座っている人々に分け与えられた。また、魚も同じようにして、欲しいだけ分け与えられた。	11 Alors Jésus prit les pains, il rendit grâce et les distribua aux convives. Il fit de même avec les poissons ; il leur en donna autant qu'ils en désiraient.	11 And Jesus took the loaves ; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down ; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
人々が十分食べたとき、イエスは弟子たちに、「少しも無駄にならないように、余ったパン切れを集めなさい」と言われた。	12 Lorsqu'ils furent rassasiés, Jésus dit à ses disciples : « Rassemblez les morceaux qui restent, de sorte que rien ne soit perdu. »	12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
集めると、人々が大麦のパン五つを食べて、なお余ったパン切れで、十二の籠がいっぱいになった。	13 Ils les rassemblèrent et ils remplirent douze paniers avec les morceaux des cinq pains d'orge qui étaient restés à ceux qui avaient mangé.	13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.
人々はイエスのなさったしるしを見て、「まさにこの人こそ、世に来るべき預言者である」と言った。	14 À la vue du signe qu'il venait d'opérer, les gens dirent : « Celui-ci est vraiment le Prophète, celui qui doit venir dans le monde. »	14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
イエスは、人々が来て、自分を王にするために連れて行こうとしているのを知り、独りでまた山に退かれた。	15 Mais Jésus, sachant qu'on allait venir l'enlever pour le faire roi, se retira à nouveau, seul, dans la montagne.	15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

フランス・リールのドミニコ会教会において [1]、キリスト教信仰の二つの偉大な象徴、すなわち十字架と聖体の食卓、言い換えれば祭壇が一体となっているのを見ることができます。キリストの御体を宿す十字架は、祭壇に深く根ざしつつ、その上に堂々とそびえ立っています。この配置は、信仰の現実を象徴的に表しています。すなわち、教会で日々捧げられる聖体の犠牲は、二千年前、ユダヤの地で十字架の上に行われたキリストの唯一の犠牲によって支えられているのです。	In the Dominican church in Lille (France) [2], we find the two great symbols of the Christian faith united : the cross and the Eucharistic table, or in other words, the altar ; the cross, bearing the body of Christ, dominates the altar whilst being rooted within it. This arrangement] figuratively expresses a reality of faith : the Eucharistic sacrifices celebrated daily in the church are sustained by the unique sacrifice of Christ wrought on the cross two thousand years ago in Judea.	Dans l'église des dominicains de Lille (France) [3], nous trouvons conjoints les deux grands symboles de la foi chrétienne, la croix et la table eucharistique, autrement dit l'autel : la croix avec le corps du Christ domine l'autel tout en étant plantée en lui. Ce dispositif dit de manière figurée une réalité de foi : les sacrifices eucharistiques célébrés quotidiennement dans l'église sont irrigués par le sacrifice unique du Christ opéré sur la croix il y a deux mille ans en Judée.
ミサにおいて、聖別されたパンとぶどう酒は、十字架の二重の力動の担い手となります： – キリストが地上の最も深い場所へと降り、その後天の最も高い場所へと昇るという垂直的な力動、 – キリストが両腕を伸ばして全被造物を抱擁するという水平的な力動	During Mass, the consecrated bread and wine become bearers of the dual dynamism of the cross : – the vertical dynamism of Christ descending to the deepest place on earth and then ascending to the highest place in Heaven, – the horizontal dynamism of Christ stretching out his arms to embrace the whole of Creation	Lors de la messe, le pain et le vin eucharistiés deviennent porteurs du double dynamisme de la croix : – dynamisme vertical du Christ descendant au lieu le plus profond de la terre pour monter ensuite vers le lieu le plus élevé du Ciel, – dynamisme horizontal avec le Christ étendant ses bras jusqu'à étreindre la Création entière.
ですから、私たちは注意深くありましょう。キリストの御体を受けることは、この「完全な抱擁」の力学の中へと入り込むことを受け入れることです。聖アウグスティヌスは、キリストの御体を私が取り込むのではなく、キリストの御体が私を取り込むのだ、と語りました。	So let us be attentive. To receive the Body of Christ is to accept entering into this dynamic of total embrace. Saint Augustine said that it is not I who assimilate the Body of Christ, but the Body of Christ that assimilates me.	Alors soyons attentifs. Communier au corps du Christ, c'est accepter d'entrer dans cette dynamique de saisie intégrale. Saint Augustin disait que ce n'est pas moi qui assimile le Corps du Christ, c'est le Corps du Christ qui m'assimile.
キリストの御体は、宇宙の他のすべてと築かれた関係から織り成され、それと共に一つとなった私の肉なる体を取り込みます。	The Body of Christ assimilates my body of flesh, woven from all the relationships forged with the rest of the universe, with which it has become united.	Le Corps du Christ assimile mon corps de chair tissé de toutes les relations nouées avec le reste de l'univers et dont il est devenu solidaire [4].
私自身の次元において、聖体拝領を受けることによって、私は二千年前、キリストの自発的な受難に由来する普遍的な連帯の運動を継続しているのです [5]。受難を通じて被造物と一つとなったキリストは、父のもとへの昇天、すなわち復活と昇天において、被造物を共に引き上げることができるのです。なぜなら、それが御父の御心だからです。すなわち、被造物が死から救われ、永遠の命に入るということです。	On my own scale, by receiving Communion, I continue the movement of universal solidarity stemming from Christ's voluntary Passion two thousand years ago [6]. Having become united with Creation through his Passion, Christ can draw it up with him in his ascent to the Father, Resurrection and Ascension. For such is the will of his Father : that Creation be saved from death and enter into eternal life. Chers frères et sœurs, nous entendons dans l'évangile d'aujourd'hui un écho du rejet par la synagogue de l'Église. Au début de notre ère, un « nouveau mouvement religieux », - un terme employé en sociologie des religions -, est apparu à l'intérieur de ce qui donnera le judaïsme, avant d'être rejeté comme « secte ».	Dear brothers and sisters, in today's Gospel we hear an echo of the synagogue's rejection of the Church. At the beginning of our era, a "new religious movement" - a term used in the sociology of religions - appeared within what would become Judaism, before being rejected as a "cult".	親愛なる兄弟姉妹の皆様、今日の福音書には、教会に対する会堂の拒絶の響きが聞こえてきます。私たちの時代の初め、後にユダヤ教となるものの中に「新しい宗教運動」―宗教社会学で用いられる用語―が現れ、やがて「異端」として拒絶されることとなりました。
Et pourtant ce mouvement, le christianisme, va croître jusqu'à devenir la première religion du monde. « La pierre rejetée par les bâtisseurs est devenue la pierre d'angle ».	And yet this movement, Christianity, would grow to become the world's largest religion. On retrouve ce rejet dès l'origine : le Christ a été rejeté par les autorités juives, comme il l'avait prophétisé dans les annonces de sa Passion.	This rejection can be seen from the very beginning : Christ was rejected by the Jewish authorities, as he had prophesied in his announcements of his Passion.	この拒絶は最初から明らかであった。キリストは、ご自身の受難を予告されたとおり、ユダヤの指導者たちによって拒絶されたのである。
Qu'est-ce qui s'est passé à cette époque ? Les docteurs en charge de l'enseignement de la Loi et les prêtres en charge de l'appareil rituel avaient une idée précise de ce qu'était la religion juive et de la manière dont elle devait être pratiquée et administrée. Ce qui ne cadrait pas avec cette idée était rejeté.	What happened at that time ? The doctors in charge of teaching the Law and the priests in charge of rituals had a clear idea of what the Jewish religion was and how it should be practised and administered. Anything that did not fit in with this idea was rejected.	当時何が起きたのか？律法を教える学者たちと儀式を担当する祭司たちは、ユダヤ教とは何か、またそれがどのように実践され管理されるべきかについて明確な考えを持っていた。この考えに合致しないものはすべて拒絶された。
Les autorités religieuses avaient simplement oublié de mettre Dieu dans la boucle. Ils avaient oublié que Dieu est le propriétaire de la maison et qu'ils n'en étaient que les intendants. Ils avaient exercé leur pouvoir sans Dieu, tout en prétendant agir en son nom.	The religious authorities had simply forgotten to include God in the loop. They had forgotten that God is the owner of the house and that they were only stewards. Les sociétés laïques actuelles ne prétendent plus agir au nom de Dieu, au contraire elles revendiquent de se construire sans lui. « Nous sommes parvenus au stade adulte, nous sommes capables de nous donner nos lois à nous-même sans avoir besoin de les recevoir d'on ne sait quelle réalité supérieure, au demeurant fort élusive. ».	Today's secular societies no longer claim to act in the name of God ; on the contrary, they claim to build themselves without him. Comme croyants, nous pouvons difficilement recevoir cette vision « auto-référentielle » d'un monde en possession de lui-même.	As believers, we find it difficult to accept this 'self-referential' vision of a world in possession of itself.	信者として、私たちはこの「自己言及的」な世界観―すなわち世界が自己を所有しているという見方―を受け入れることに困難を感じる。
Dans ma foi, je crois que je ne suis pas propriétaire de mon corps ; je ne suis pas propriétaire de mon intelligence, de mon affectivité et je ne peux pas en faire ce que je veux. Je ne suis pas propriétaire du temps de vie qui m'est donné sur cette terre, entre le moment où j'en émerge et le moment où je vais y retourner. Je ne suis pas propriétaire de la terre. Même si je possède un titre foncier, aux yeux de Dieu, je n'en suis pas propriétaire. Je ne suis pas propriétaire de l'air, je ne suis pas propriétaire de l'eau et je ne peux pas en faire ce que je veux.	I do not own the land. Even if I have a land title, in God's eyes, I am not the owner. Dieu est le seul et unique propriétaire. Il m'a accordé en fermage un peu de temps, pas beaucoup, pour cultiver ce qu'il m'a confié. He has granted me a little time, not much, to cultivate what he has entrusted to me. He is walking towards his creation, he is coming towards us, he is coming towards me. 彼らは言った。「その悪人どもをひどい目に遭わせて殺し、ぶどう園は、季節ごとに収穫を納めるほかの農夫たちに貸すにちがいない。」	41 Ils lui répondirent : « Il fera périr misérablement ces misérables, et il donnera la vigne en fermage à d'autres vignerons, qui lui remettront les fruits en temps voulu. »	41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

Chers frères et sœurs, en ce 11^e dimanche du temps ordinaire [1], nous pouvons nous rappeler de notre baptême : alors que l'eau coulait sur nous, une parole retentissait à nos oreilles et descendait dans notre cœur : « je te baptise au nom du Père, du Fils et du Saint-Esprit ».	Dear sisters and brothers, today is the 11^th Sunday in the Ordinary time. We may remember our baptism, when water was flowing down on us while a word was pronounced upon us and sunk deep into our hearts : “I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit”.
Depuis, cette première parole n'a cessé de croître dans notre cœur, comme la graine de l'Évangile. Elle a occupé peu à peu toute notre vie, comme la graine a occupé la terre.	This first word has since gone on growing in our hearts, like the seed in the Gospel. It has filled our life just like the seed has occupied the soil.
Mes amis, faisons confiance à la force de vie de cette parole, à la sagesse innée de cette parole qui sait ce qu'elle a à faire, comme la graine sait ce qu'elle a à faire. Planter ses racines toujours plus profond, vers l'obscur, le ténébreux, le grouillant. La graine sait tirer du bon de la tourbe. Faisons confiance à la Parole, qui est capable de tirer parti de nos affects, de nos pulsions, du côté sombre en nous qui peut nous faire peur.	Sinking its roots deeper and deeper, into the dark, the swarming. The seed knows how to derive good things from the peat in the deep. Let us trust the Word who can take advantage of our affects, our drives, of the dark side inside us which may afraid us.

Jean le Baptiste a vu l'Esprit saint descendre sur Jésus et y faire sa demeure. Et il rend compte de ce qu'il a vu : « Voici l'agneau de Dieu qui enlève le péché du monde » [1].	John the Baptist saw the Holy Spirit descend upon Jesus and dwell within him. And he recounts what he saw : "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." [2]
Jean le Baptiste, un homme de l'Ancien Testament, mobilise ici une image très puissante pour les juifs mais aussi pour les chrétiens : à la fin de la consécration eucharistique, le prêtre élève l'hostie consacrée et proclame lui aussi : « Voici l'agneau de Dieu qui enlève le(s) péché(s) du monde ».	John the Baptist, a man from the Old Testament, uses an image here that is very powerful for Jews and Christians alike : at the end of the Eucharistic, the priest raises the consecrated host and proclaims, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin(s) of the world."

Men despise him and brutalise him. He is like a lamb being sheared, which does not open its mouth ; he is like a sheep being led to the slaughter, which does not resist. His persecutors will only understand who he is – the servant sent by God to save them – after they have killed him.

Aujourd'hui [1], nous célébrons la naissance d'un enfant, et nous avons beaucoup de motifs de nous réjouir. Un enfant, c'est une source de vie, de fraîcheur, c'est un petit être rempli d'énergie qui se lance dans le monde pour en découvrir les richesses, les merveilles.
